CACW also known as air-to-water closed circuit coolers, widely fitted inside totally-enclosed large high-voltage motors, hydro generators, air-cooled turbo generators and drive motors across power plants, chemical factories, offshore platforms and hydropower stations.

Heat generated by stator windings, rotor and bearings heats the circulating air inside the motor/generator housing.
Hot enclosed air flows across the finned tube bundle of the CACW cooler.
Cooling water circulates inside metal tubes and absorbs heat from the air.
Cooled clean air circulates back into the machine to continuously control winding temperature.
The warmed cooling water flows to an external cooling water heat exchanger or cooling tower for heat rejection.
Core advantage: Internal air never contacts outside ambient air. Dust, salt fog, moisture and industrial corrosive fumes cannot enter the motor/generator enclosure.
